I am on my third copy of this book as it is my bible on African mammals. Richard Estes provides the reader with an unbelievable amount of information
about the mammals of southern africa. When observing the mammals in a zoo, wildlife habitat or africa you can watch the animal digging dirt up with its horns and the Safari Companion can explain the reasons for such behavior from the animal.
This book has really indepth information on the mammals. By learning their behavior you can photograph them more effectively.
You would be surprised at the number of times that I have heard a Rhino called a Hippo or a leopard called a cheetah. Some people believe that bears and tigers live in africa. This book provides the user with images of the creatures that you might and far cheaper than buying something in Africa.
